OT Initial Consultation
Discuss whether OT is right for your child
Service Description
This brief yet informative phone consultation provides an opportunity for caregivers to connect with a licensed Doctor of Occupational Therapy to discuss potential OT needs. During the call, the therapist will: -Introduce themselves and explain the purpose of the consultation. -Listen to your concerns regarding daily functioning, development, sensory needs, fine motor skills, or other challenges. -Ask targeted questions to gather background information, such as medical history, current issues, goals, and routines. -Provide initial insights into whether occupational therapy may be beneficial or play therapy (pediatric mental health therapy) may be a better fit -Explain next steps, including the process for a full evaluation, what services might look like, and how to get started with treatment if appropriate. This consultation is not a formal assessment but a helpful first step in determining if OT services are the right fit. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more in a low-pressure setting.
